'In Orbit' is a performance architecture installation in New York conducted by two artists: Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder. The pair started living on a giant 25-foot hamster wheel, they built, made out of wood, steel, and furniture.
The two artists started living in the wheel, 24 hours a day, on February 28th. They remain on opposite ends and must calculate their synchronized movements to control their spinning home. Necessary furniture -- beds, microwaves and desks -- are scattered throughout the wheel for survival.
Shelley says the project is "about the way people change the world, and how the world pushes back." The wheel emphasizes the need for collaboration and how we coexist with our surroundings.
The performance architecture installation will remain available for viewing until April 5th, 2014. The artists will remain in it for 10 days.
