Alibaba's Flyzoo Future Hotel Offers Biometric Entry & In-Suite Assistants

Alibaba is introducing the 290-room Flyzoo Future Hotel in China to provide an experience that's more in line with the current digital technologies in place today. This hotel is bound to set a precedent for the hospitality industry with a range of services powered by artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology.

In place of keys and keycards—which are easily lost—guests are able to access their suites just a biometric entry system that matches a person's likeness to the image taken at check-in. In their individual suites, guests will find a Tmall Genie smart speaker, which functions as a smart assistant for controlling various parts of one's experience.

The Flyzoo Future Hotel was built with Alibaba’s online travel platform, Fliggy, alongside others from the Alibaba Group like Alibaba A.I. Labs and Alibaba Cloud.
