Floating Box Installations

The 'Flying Boxes' Display Appears to Be Magically Floating in the Air

Turin-based design firm Migliore+Servetto Architects created this unique art installation called 'Flying Boxes.' The artistic display lives up to the name and consists of dozens of boxes that are suspended from the ceiling. The boxes appear to float effortlessly in mid-air and create an illusion for art fans.

The installation itself makes use of literal boxes as well as pieces of vibrantly colored furniture. The boxes are suspended from the ceiling along with the colorful chairs and tables contained inside of each vessel. With clear siding on the boxes, the audience is able to see the unique furniture display from an extremely different perspective.

The Flying Boxes installation has been displayed at two exhibits this month -- the first at Milan’s ADI for EXPO, and the second in Rome's Serra Espositiva dell’Orto botanico.
