Droopy Bathroom Basins

The Flight Sink Seems to Slump Beneath the Weight of the Water

You know that the Flight Sink by Francesco Rodighiero is certainly made from a hard material, yet its lovely sculptural form seems to have been inspired by a much softer substance. The elegant piece looks like it was gently worked from a single malleable square so that its middle and its corners were caused to sag.

This intriguing shape is similar to that produced by an inundated tarp with a great amount of liquid weight pooling and bearing down in the center. It's only appropriate then that the drain should be located in the bottom of the depression, able to be plugged and filled up to assume a balanced air about it.

Most significantly, the designer made the Flight Sink thin and wall-mounted so that it can be approached easily by people of different ages and levels of mobility.
