The Penetron Group provided a comprehensive waterproofing and repair system for the primary water storage tank at Eurolamp’s logistics hub in Thessaloniki, Greece, addressing significant deterioration that had arisen from an unsuitable concrete mixture in a relatively new structure.
The solution employed at Eurolamp’s logistics hub is known as the Penetron System and it involves a multi-step approach. First, high-pressure hydro-blasting cleans the substrate and exposes flaws such as tie-rod holes, honeycombed areas, and construction joints, after which a crystalline bonding slurry is applied. This is followed by a crystalline repair mortar to fill cracks and voids, a final overlay of the crystalline material across all interior surfaces, swellable waterstop strips around pipe penetrations, and a crystalline admixture incorporated into the replacement concrete for recast sections.
