Eastwest Architecture, a London-based studio, has recently designed an uncommon addition for a house in the neighborhood of Walthamstow, London. If there is any building in a garden, it is typically something like a shed, a cupola, a gazebo, or even a doghouse. However, at the request of a fitness-minded client, Eastwest Architecture built a small gym at the rear end of her property's garden.
The Garden Studio Gym, as the small gym is called, is covered in charred cedar planks on the exterior. Three of the interior walls and the ceiling are clad in pine, and one of the walls is a mirror that aids in working out while also creating the illusion of more space. The gym has two skylights and a window to increase natural light and offer views of the garden vegetation.
