The Dymak headquarters by BIG is a 2,800-square-metre office building in Odense, Denmark, organized as a circular mass-timber structure around an open-air courtyard. Its undulating roof rises toward Glisholm Lake and slopes southward to improve shading and reduce solar heat gain. The roof integrates 880 custom-shaped photovoltaic panels, combining on-site energy generation with the building's defining architectural feature. Mass timber forms the primary structure, complemented by clay, cork, eelgrass, and recycled paper fibre finishes throughout the interior.
The headquarters functions as both a workplace and a showcase for Dymak's material portfolio, with bio-based materials incorporated into floors, walls, ceilings, and structural elements. A landscaped central courtyard includes planted terraces and stepped seating surrounded by glazing that brings daylight into the surrounding workspaces. The ground floor houses a showroom, photo studio, and fitness facilities, while the upper level contains open-plan offices, meeting rooms, lounges, and a mezzanine connected by a continuous circulation route around the courtyard.
