This spinning tree installation called ‘Arbores Laetae’, which means ‘Joyful Trees’ is part of the Liverpool Arts Festival. The exhibit consists of 3 large trees ingeniously installed on rotating disks of lawn, in the center of a small forest of 14 others which have their roots firmly planted.
The rotational speed is quite slow, and the trees have been planted on an odd angle, so initially you could mistakenly assume they are blowing in the wind. The installation by Diller, Scofidio and Renfro, will definitely get some puzzled looks from bewildered onlookers.
