Japanese architectural practice Oishi Masayuki & Associates has designed a welcoming dental clinic, located in the city of Hiroshima, that also serves as a private residence for its occupants. Located close to the Onomichi station, this facility features large skylights in its facade, allowing the interior space to be bathed with plenty of natural daylight. The project's uncovered structural form allows it to become a part of the surrounding urban fabric thanks to its seamless integration with the surrounding streetscape.
Interestingly, the structural framework of the building is not hidden away but is rather exposed boldly, with the tumber trusses staring out at patients as they have their wisdom teeth plucked out.
