Seaside Behemoth Bronze Statues

The Damien Hirst 'Verity' Statue Stands For Truth and Justice

The Damien Hirst 'Verity' statue has just been erected after two years of planning and construction. Built in the same style as the Statue of Liberty and the Colussus of Rhodes (which has been lost to the sands of time), Verity is a 20.25m statue that is made of bronze and weighs over 25 tons. 40 individual castings were created at Pangolin Editions in Gloucestershire, and the entire structure in framed by one piece of stainless steel.

Verity is a naked woman holding a sword high above her head. She represents truth and justice. One side of Verity shows the woman's inner anatomy, which makes viewers consider the female form and biology. If you are able to stop by the seaside resort of Ilfracombe, you should check out this brand new landmark.
