In a cross between an art installation for Clerkenwell Design week and performing a social service, Tom Dixon created a co-working space for a local church and also reinvented the space with beautiful fixtures.
The co-working space was designed to reestablish a relationship between the church and the local workforce and creative community -- as a resource for these people as well as a reason for them to visit. The British design brand also designed beautiful chandeliers for the church using the "thin sheet etched metal fabrication" that he is known for. Dixon also designed fixtures for the soup kitchen, which will remain functioning after the exhibit is over.
The partnership of these two different organizations and the intersection of spirituality, design and performing community service makes this space a unique way for traditional spaces to become more engaging.
