The 'Couch-19' by Tobia Zambotti is One-of-a-Kind

The 'Couch-19' furniture piece has been designed by Tobia Zambotti as a one-of-a-kind furniture fixture that pinpoints the stark reality that comes with the essential but disposable nature of single-use face coverings. The furniture piece is filled with more than 10,000 single-use face masks that were collection from the streets of the designers hometown in Italy, Pergine Valsugana. The masks were disinfected with ozone before being used to fill the furniture piece, which is constructed using recyclable crystal PVC.

The 'Couch-19' furniture piece features a range of irregularities when it comes to color and texture throughout thanks to the masks within. The piece calls to mind the shape of icebergs, which further increases the comment on climate change.
