Metal-Clad Restaurant Interiors

This Finnish Restaurant is Lined with Corrugated Metal Wall Panels

Finnish designer Joanna Laajisto recently gave a tiny restaurant a contemporary upgrade by lining the interior with corrugated metal wall panels. With a growing demand for industrial-style decor, the new restaurant interior helps to give the eatery a chic, urban atmosphere.

The restaurant redecorated by Laajisto is called 'OX' and it is located in the heart of Helsinki. To match the restaurant's contemporary menu, Laajisto decided to line the interior with corrugated metal walls in a soft mint-green color. The new decor not only gives the restaurant a more modern look, but it also provides acoustics. The pastel walls were then offset with orange leather sofas and sleek marble tables. The entire design scheme is inspired by the look of old slaughter houses fitted with unfinished metal walls. This inspiration comes from the fact that the space has a long history as a steak house prior to becoming OX.
