Set to be on tap at 500 Starbucks locations this summer, the 'Nitro Cold Brew' is a cold-brewed coffee that is infused with nitrogen to provide a beer-like final product.
The 'Nitro Cold Brew' starts with cold-brewed coffee, which is coffee that is prepared by having coffee beans submerged in cold water for hours in order to be brewed. From here, nitrogen is added and the coffee is served from a tap almost like a beer.
The 'Nitro Cold Brew' is purported to be cold, creamy and sweet thanks to the infusion of nitrogen and has been likened to Guinness beer. It comes as a response for the growing demand for craft products in the mainstream retail market and a preference for artisanal procedures.
