Cohu Experience's Space Nation Offers an App That Tests for Astronauts

Cohu Experience, a space media company based out of Finland, has partnered with several other tech and space companies to offer people a free trip to the International Space Station — provided they have what it takes to compete with the rest of the world. Though the free trip is entirely real, winning it means competing and succeeding in a smartphone game.

Though it might sound silly, astronauts and cosmonauts all have to complete rigorous testing before they can be cleared to go to space, so there's no reason why those examinations couldn't be applied more broadly. To get the nod from Cohu Experience and the 'Space Nation' team, users will need to be among the 130 top players in the app, which offers reasoning, reflex, and intelligence tests. After that, contestants will need to complete rigorous physical training, with one person ultimately coming out on top and heading to the ISS.
