Modernized Metropolis Structures

The CET Building by ONL Transforms an Old CIty

The CET Building by ONL is a modernized structure that has been built in the heart of Budapest. The contemporary form sits in between two of the city's classic buildings, creating a harmony between the metropolis' old and new architecture.

Inspired by the shape of a whale, this metal and glass-clad structure resembles something out of a sci-fi film. From its triangle steel frame to its massive domed ceiling, this soon-to-be landmark infuses an old city neighbourhood with a sense of modernity.

Dutch design firm ONL aimed to merge traditional and new design concepts with a focus on prismatic light reflections emitted through its glass form. The CET Building is located on the Danube river and is home to restaurants and bars as well as shops and a large multi-functional event space.
