Cerveza Mica's El Cotarro is a Charitable Beer Made with Wine Grapes

Spanish brewery Cerveza Mica has launched a craft beer called El Cotarro with charity in mind. Developed in a partnership with the municipal council of Moradillo de Roa, El Cotarro is made with Tempranillo grapes in an effort to support the local wineries in the area. The grapes used to create this brew are native to the Moradillo de Roa area and are grown in considerable volume by the local wineries. The combination with the beer was done in an effort to meld the two crafts and at the same time, use the sales and clout of Cerveza Mica to support the local wineries and over 150 historic bodegas subterráneas in the area.

The Cerveza Mica El Cotarro is a passion project for the brewery as the concept for this beer was developed in 2016. By combining the wine grapes with the traditional beer ingredients, the end result is something completely unique and attractive. The color of the beer is golden with pink hues and the aroma is fresh. The flavor of the beer is described as sweet from the barley, but also layered with acidity from the grapes.
