The luxury Italian furniture house, Cassina, has reissued and reimagined a 1950s-made modular shelving unit. Originally designed by French architect Charlotte Perriand, the new Nuage à Plots bookcase boasts a contemporary and versatile design that can mold into any space.
Made of curved aluminum, this bookshelf can either be suspended from the wall or free-standing on the ground. The aluminum pieces run horizontally and are connected by tie rods. The shelves have a depth of roughly 33 centimeters, which can easily fit most book sizes. Pieces of aluminum are secured vertically into the shelf, which doubles as structural support and book dividers.
Clients can pick from natural anodize or painted black or white finishes to personalize their units.
