Mexico City-based Fernanda Canales Architects created the Casa Burma, a cohesive unit of nine individual pavilions that weave in and out of the surrounding natural landscape.
Situated on the beautiful outskirts of Mexico City, each structure wraps around existing trees that offer a different function -- connected by a series of hand-placed stone walkways. The black concrete facades offer the exteriors a cohesive design, making each building look like one. The design team brought the dark hue from the outside into the interior with a white oak finish, creating a warm and comfortable contrast.
Using large panels of glass for doors, each part of the Casa Burma opens completely up to the outdoors to create a floorplan that flows seamlessly outside.
