Boroughs in Manhattan Get Paired with Their Biggest Brands

These brand reworks aren’t just your average culture jamming project. This project takes a specific look at New York and matches various boroughs in Manhattan to their biggest and most ubiquitous brands.

New York is a hodgepodge of people and different lifestyles. Even in one part of the city, in this case Manhattan, you’ll find different types of stores and people. In this brand rework project, entitled City in Chains, James Campbell Taylor takes the biggest stores from different boroughs in Manhattan and reworks their logo with the area name.

According to the project Subway is the number one in Gramercy and GAP rules in Les. Some of the logos are flattering to the local behavior and culture while others are less flattering, but all in all it’s an accurate depiction of what chain rules what.
