AR Arquitectos Designs the Black House in La Calera Outside Córdoba

Argentinian design studio AR Arquitectos designs the new Black House that is found in the small mountain town that is La Calera. It is located just outside of Córdoba and the home measures 550 square meters. The idea behind the design was to challenge the traditional premises and focus attention on concrete as the main choice of material. As a result, the exterior walls used black-stained concrete for a strong visual look.

The design studio notes that "The ground floor, undermined in the terrain, gives visitors the experience of going through the project and framing the views it suggests. The staircase is one of the main elements, with the idea of expressing a material's lightness over the robustness of another material, such as black concrete."
