Monsterous Billionaire Sculptures

A Richard Branson Godzilla Promotes Virgin Media's Big Kahuna

As part of its promotions for the new Virgin Media 'Big Kahuna' package and just after the remake of Godzilla was released, a mysterious Godzilla statue that looked a lot like Sir Richard Branson popped up on Bournemouth Pier in the UK.

The 25' blonde-bearded Godzilla icon was set up to look like he was coming straight out of the sea and in his hands, he brought devices ashore to represent the Big Kahuna's really big TV, phone and broadband bundle. Considering that Godzilla was released not too long ago, it's a pretty fun and timely way to announce the supersized bundle.

Reportedly, the sculpture took over 500 hours to craft and the giant beast weighs in at somewhere over six tonnes. The stunt was devised for Virgin Media by The Academy PR.
