This Tokyo Barber Shop Boasts a Minimalist Pared Down Interior

This recently opened Udagawa barber shop in Tokyo is a highly innovative minimalist approach to the conventional salon space. The conceptual layout is pared down to contain only the essentials, while it is also stands out thanks to its contrasting plywood and white walls. The space was designed by Mikiya Kobayashi.

The emptiness of the space is wonderfully refreshing, especially when compared to the stereotypical buzz of a traditional salon space filled with copies of old magazines. The black fixtures and sleek high-tech salon chairs leave plenty of room for imagination and is sure to be a conversation-starter in itself.
