DS Smith introduced a new fibre-based corrugated cardboard packaging solution for Dutch tree-gifting brand Geefeenboompje.nl, featuring a 100% recyclable design with die-cut air holes to improve aeration for live trees during transit. The updated packaging also offers enhanced branding opportunities, allowing companies to add logos, personalized messages or an optional paper-based sleeve.
Developed for Geefeenboompje.nl's range of tree gift products, the redesigned pack improves both product presentation and packing efficiency. DS Smith said the solution streamlines handling and supports a more efficient supply chain while reducing storage and labour requirements compared with the previous design.
For consumers, the packaging provides a more sustainable way to send living tree gifts while helping protect plants during delivery. The launch reflects the growing use of fibre-based packaging to replace less sustainable formats while improving logistics and the customer experience.
