The 002 Chair by TON is Made of Only Three Parts

Furniture designers are continuing to embrace the minimalistic aesthetic and the 002 Chair by Czech Furniture manufacturer TON is as minimalistic as they come. The 002 chair, which was designed by Jaroslav Jurica, is comprised of only three parts. Two of the parts are actually connected via aluminum joints, as Design East points out, so the chair is essentially made out of two parts.

Jurica, who was inspired by designer Michael Thonet -- the creator of the legendary 6-part chair called 'No. 14' -- created the 002 chair using a specific mathematical formula by the French mathematician Grabriel Lame. The 002 chair was presented at Prague Designblok 2011 and is also the winner of the 'Bentwood no limits' design contest.
