To give people a place to watch the game during the world cup, the Brazil embassy in Tokyo put up the World Cup Pavilion. Shigeru Ban Architects was the team responsible for the design, which ended up being made from recycled cardboard tubes that are surprisingly durable.
Shigeru Ban is known for its ability to turn recycled and used objects into something of use, and the World Cup Pavilion in Toyko is no different. The pavilion is open air, and in one section it has circular shelves to house soccer balls for decoration. Although the pavilion is set up now, it is only temporary and will be taken down after the cup is over. For now it provides an ideal spot for fans to come and join in on the festivities.
