Fossil-Engraved Parquet Tiles

Studio Job's 'Wood' Collection Includes Nature-Inspired Imprints

Parquet courts are a classic, magisterial flooring option, but the Wood collection from Belgian designers at Studio Job brings the parquet even further into the past by decorating one of the designs in the series with engravings of prehistoric fossils. The Wood collection was designed for Bisazza, an Italian mosaic brand and it is the brand's first line of wood products.

The fossil engravings in the Wood collection include a frog, a turtle, a dodo-like bird and insects. There are other, more traditional parquet patterns in the series as well. However, even in these standard designs, Studio Job's use of color adds a touch of modern playfulness where a more stuffy herringbone, brick, or basket design would leave something to be desired.
