Scottish Researchers Develop a Whiskey-Based Fuel

In the search for alternate forms of fuel, scientists seem to have been inspired by their own liquor cabinets when they decided to develop whiskey-based fuel. Yet considering that the concept doesn't seem far-fetched at all, I guess a toast is not really necessary.

It took two years and $400,000 for researchers at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland to develop the whiskey-based fuel. Thirty percent more efficient than ethanol, perhaps a cheers is in order. Whiskey-based fuel also puts to use the 420 million gallons of pot ale and 410 million pounds of draft that the whiskey industry tosses away each year.
