RSHP Unveils Its Design for a 212 Meters Tall Tower in Shenzhen, China

The architecture studio RSHP has tasked itself with creating "an open and welcoming skyscraper" in Shenzhen, China. The building, which is titled the 'Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Integrated Service Centre,' will have 45 stories and "two glazed office wings arranged on either side of a central concrete tower containing circulation."

The concept of "an open and welcoming skyscraper" is an interesting one since soaring buildings are often attributed as the cause of social alienation. RSHP is clearly trying to work out a solution through the silhouette of the building, which will provide uninterrupted views" from the inside but also will not overwhelm people from the outside either. Of course, the presence of gardens has become a common element for buildings of this size and RSHP is including greenery on the office terraces and even a green roof.
