Bernheimer Architecture Builds a Crisp Home in Nassau County

Brooklyn studio Bernheimer Architecture creates a homey waterfront residence that blurs the line between traditional and contemporary design. The structure boasts a gabled roof and a crisp white exterior that ties perfectly well into the scenery and vibe of New York's Long Beach Island.

The aesthetic of the waterfront residence is defined by the rich use of texture. Bernheimer Architecture focuses on experimenting with materials and positioning. As a result, the Atlantic Beach Residence is comprised of a few geometric volumes that pose a dynamic interplay between textures. For the most part, the home is "clad in whitewashed, cedar shiplap siding." The front-facing garage, on the other hand, raises a noticeable juxtaposition with its "complimentary white bricks."
