Greg Shand Architects Designs a Curved Roof Abode

The waterfront house designed by Greg Shand Architects is appropriately named Nautical Lines. Not only does this reference the area that it is built in Singapore, it also highlights the stunning silhouette of the home. Dramatically curved, it brings to mind the shape of a luxury yacht or even an abstract wave, both images of which are part of the larger waterfront house theme.

Yet the sloping shape of the waterfront house's roof is more practical than one would first assume. It is meant to provide some much needed shade from the hot Eastern and Western sun. An eco-friendly design, the Nautical Lines waterfront house is made using recycled teak, reminiscent of a boat hull, while also allowing a lot of bright natural light and cool sea breezes to leak in.
