Gigantic QR Codes

The Volkswagen Crafter Shows How Much Room There is in its Vehicle

To prove a point that a Volkswagen Crafter has ample space, Volkswagen decided to build a giant QR code made from crates full of lemons.

It's set in Central de Abasto, Mexico City, which is the world's largest wholesale market. Here, over 2,000 businesses and business owners pass through each day with over 350,000 customers, so there's no doubt people are using cargo vans.

Starting in the wee hours of the morning, a crew set out to stack crates full of lemons into a massive wooden wall that showed a QR code. As people took noticed and flashed the QR code, a video instantly starts and it shows a Volkswagen Crafter dismantling the wall and fitting everything into its van. This clever marketing technique was successful as there was a 224 per cent increase of brand awareness in the area.
