The 'Villa Blabar' Accommodates a Sloping Site

pS Arkitektur designed 'Villa Blåbär,' a home located in Nacka, Sweden.

The client was heavily involved in designing the house, which is entirely clad in roofing felt. The architect's biggest challenge was making sure all the rooms were level, while accommodating for the site's sloping ground. This was achieved by situating the house on concrete blocks, making it appear as though it is hovering in some areas. The exterior of the home is slate black, contrasting beautifully with the stark white interior. Inside, the streamlined, minimalist look is enhanced with built-in wardrobes, lighting and sockets. By insetting these features into the walls and ceiling, the architects preserved space.

The home offers tremendous views of the lush forest, and the site itself is covered in heather, blueberries and pine trees.
