The Vaulted Willow is a Colorful Permanent Installation in an Edmonton Park

The Vaulted Willow is a mesmerizing permanent public art installation located in Borden Park in Edmonton, Canada. Commissioned by the Edmonton Arts Council, the Vaulted Willow was designed and built by Marc Fornes / THEVERYMANY, a New York City-based studio integrating art and architecture.

The colorful Vaulted Willow is made up of 721 aluminum stripes and 14,043 connectors, with epoxy concrete anchors holding it in place. The bright shells are extremely light and self-supporting, while the color scheme was chosen to contrast with the surrounding forest, boosting the feeling of superficiality.
