Luring Light Advertisements

Ads for the Vancouver Aquarium's New Exhibit Attract Full Attention

The Vancouver Aquarium's 'Lights with Appetites' campaign is a brilliant one that reels in a lot of attention. The Canadian aquarium enlisted the help of Taxi to create an advertisement that would convey the unusual and dangerous nature of the aquatic life at their new 'Secret World of Sharks and Rays' exhibit.

Taxi's concept is clever and simple; the advertisements make use of existing arched streetlights throughout the city and make them look like anglerfish. By just adding signage in the shape of an anglerfish, the tops of lamp posts are made to look like the filament that sprouts from the head of the anglerfish.

The installations are polarizing additions to the city, and even more eye-catching when lit up at night, "luring curious onlookers the same way the anglerfish attracts its prey," according to the company site.
