V-Go is a small, wearable and disposable insulin delivery device that's designed to routinely deliver insulin to Type 2 Diabetes patients who routinely require insulin.
The diabetic device comes in three forms that spread out the delivery of either 20, 30 or 40 units of basal insulin over the course of 24 hours. When wearing the device, diabetics are able to click a button and have the V-Go deliver mealtime insulin boluses at a rate of two units per click. Once attached, diabetics can go about their daily life—it's even possible to shower and sleep with the V-Go on.
The device was developed as an alternative to multiple daily injections and findings from the American Diabetes Association 2015 Scientific Sessions reveal that the V-Go is successful in improving glycemic control, while reducing the insulin requirements of adults with Type 2 Diabetes.
