If you're heading to Australia this summer, make sure to book yourself a night or two at the stunning Hotel Hotel in Canberra just so you can check out its timber planks staircase in the unique hotel lobby.
Recently designed by Melbourne office March Studio, the renovated and truly unique hotel lobby now boasts a dazzling new entrance that constitutes of a grand staircase made from reclaimed timber slabs. The staircase design was a collaborative effort that was developed by 50 artists and designers -- including Japanese studio Suppose Design Office. The architectural feat is made up of thousands of recycled wood planks protruding from the walls and ceiling, which are supported by steel rods that run from the ceiling all the way to the ground floor.
