The Unclear Ground/ Terrain Vague Creates a Mystical Universe

The Unclear ground/ Terrain vague art installation is centered around the idea of an artist revisiting a forgotten space that was once used to create art, bringing a bit of his or her colorful touch to displace the hopelessness of the place. The injection of tear-shaped paint drops, avant-garde canvases and illustrated spray cans gives the abandoned room a new lease on life.

A collaborative effort between Ema and Kid Acne, the Unclear ground/ Terrain vague art installation is currently part of the historic Pilori Museum in Niort, France. According to Ema, "Unclear Ground is the literal translation for 'terrain vague,' which is French for wasteland. We wanted to create a mysterious universe based on this idea of disused environment inhabited by mystical creatures."
