Hybrid Wine-Crafted Beers

Two Roads Brewed a Limited-Edition Gose Sauvignon Blanc Beer

Hybrid drinks are starting to gain popularity in the drink market and Connecticut craft brewer Two Roads is hoping to join the craze with its new gose-style beer produced with Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This new hybrid beer will be part of the brewer's Tanker Truck Sour Series, which derives its name from the kettle-souring process done in a tanker truck at the brewery. The decision to create this Sauvignon Blanc beer was first conceived in 1996 and was tested for years by Two Roads master brewer Phil Markowski.

The beer itself is described as having "a blend of crisp, mineral, tropical fruit," as well as notes of gooseberry that are natural characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc wine. All of these flavors are combined beautifully with the salty and refreshing tartness of a gose beer. Two Roads Sauvignon Blanc beer will be available in a limited-edition run and will be sold in 16oz 4-pack cans as well as on tap.
