The Tubabu Stool Gains Stability from a Twisted Cord and a Dangling Dowel

No hardware was used to fix the various parts of Martín Azúa's Tubabu Stool securely in place. The clever and rather straightforward system for assembling this piece of furniture enables the user to set it up easily with a few holes and some string.

The subtly conical shape of the seat will reveal three round gaps in the pointed bottom. Into these, insert each of the three long legs of toned beech wood. Because the penetration of these components is fairly shallow, you would not yet want to put any weight on top of the backless chair. To give the Tubabu Stool stiffness and stability, take the lone timber post with its attached little rope; loop it around one leg, twist it a couple of times and brace it before the other two to keep all pieces firm.
