Located in the Los Rios region of the country, the residence is surrounded by a stunning forested landscape that creates feelings of calmness. The structure was developed to maximize views of the Chilean valley—from overlooking the serene Ranco Lake to marveling at the majestic Andes Mountains. The floorplan of the T-shaped home, in tandem with the numerous windows, helps facilitate this connection between the inside and the outside.
Hebra Arquitectos also took cues from other nearby structures. Specifically, the architects embraced the "volumetry, materiality and horizontality of old wooden barns in the region." While the structure is clad in wood, the roof is metal—which creates an interesting juxtaposition.
