Origami Pod Displays

Interior of TIPS Fashion Store is a Mix of Contemporary & Classic Design

Byn architecture studio has designed this modern interior for TIPS fashion store, a boutique located in the former French Concession of Shanghai.

Housed in an old French mansion, the TIPS fashion store already has a unique interior design, but Byn studio enhanced it further by adding interesting elements to modernize the interior aeshthetic while maintaining the its classic ambiance. In particular, Byn infused the interior with freestanding origami-like pods, to be used as storage, display stands and hanging units. These pods, which are made from folded metal plates and baked paint, were produced off-site from a 3D model and installed in just two days, says the design studio.

Thus, while Byn kept the old moldings, original woodwork and beams in the TIPS fashion store, it revitalized the boutique, making it contemporary with the addition of innovative pod displays.
