Times Square Heart Sculpture Will Glow & Beat At Your Touch

We have entered the month of love, and couples living in or visiting New York City can express their affection by interacting with the Times Square heart sculpture. It's the fourth year that the Times Square Alliance has hosted a heart sculpture in celebration of Valentine's Day, and this one, titled 'BIG♥NYC,' requires your touch to glow brightly and beat fast.

As the Times Square Alliance site describes, "More people = more love." While an individual person can make this 10-foot-tall Times Square heart sculpture made of 400 LEDs beat and glow, a whole group of people joining their hands together can make it glow brighter and beat faster to "create a brightly burning heart." What's more, the Times Square Alliance will make a charitable donation to the Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund every time you take a photo in front of the sculpture and share it on Facebook.

The Times Square heart sculpture was created by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in collaboration with FLAT CUT, Local Projects, Zumtobel Lighting and Silman Associates.
