Using the 11-story HESAV tower from Health High School Vaud, which is situated in Lausanne, Switzerland, Trivial Mass Production and YouTube user NOTsoNOISY, also known as artist Guillaume Reymond, produced this jaw-dropping time-lapse video 'Animated Tower (HESAV s'anime!)' with the students.
The students equipped the 11 x 5-windowed building with dual-sliding shutters in order to produce this labor-intensive project. By opening and closing the shutters sequentially, the patterns mimic the awesomely ancient 8-bit pixelated images of when the Internet first came out by illustrating simple old school pictures like the asterisk, spinning windmills, moving arrows and the classic snake game. Reportedly taking up approximately 110 students over several hours, this not-so-easy two and a half minute time-lapse video is playful and excellently coordinated.
