Repetitive Word Art

Artist Thomas Broomé Uses Language to Create Images

Swedish artist Thomas Broome repeats words to shape and color different artistic images. A wall is filled with the word "wall," a pair of shoes is painstakingly made-up of the word "shoes" and so on.

Thomas Broome calls this type of art ‘ModernMantra’. The amount of detail and realism that can be found in Broomé‘s works is astounding. Many of Thomas Broome’s ‘ModernMantra’ pieces are more like sketches done in black and white with the artist taking care to shade and add depth to the images while maintaining the wordy nature of the pictures.
