Third Man Records x Victrola Pairs a Turntable with Bookshelf Speakers

Third Man Records and Victrola have collaborated on a limited-edition audio collection that celebrates vinyl culture through a coordinated turntable and speaker system. Finished in Third Man Records’ signature yellow-and-black color palette, the release extends the visual identity of the record label across the hardware, accessories, and packaging.

The centerpiece is the Wave turntable, which is constructed from MDF and equipped with an adjustable counterweight, a removable headshell, and high-resolution Bluetooth with Auracast support. Matching Tempo bookshelf speakers complete the setup with a design that mirrors the collection’s distinctive color scheme.

The speakers support multiple connection options, including optical, USB-C, RCA, Bluetooth, and Auracast multi-room functionality capable of linking up to ten compatible speakers. Alongside the hardware launch, Third Man Records has reissued several albums connected to Jack White, including Elephant, Blunderbuss, and Broken Boy Soldiers.

Trend Themes

  1. Branded Hardware Collaborations — Co-branded audio hardware blurs the boundary between record labels and device makers, creating premium limited-run products that capture collector demand and extend brand ecosystems.
  2. Vinyl Revival Meets Smart Tech — A resurgence in vinyl combined with integrated wireless standards and digital features points to hybrid analog-digital products that appeal to both audiophiles and mainstream streaming users.
  3. Multi-protocol Audio Ecosystems — Interoperable connectivity across Bluetooth, Auracast, USB-C and optical formats supports speaker networks and modular sound systems that scale across rooms and use cases.

Industry Implications

  1. Consumer Audio — Product differentiation through designer finishes, collector editions and multi-format connectivity introduces opportunities for higher-margin, lifestyle-oriented audio offerings.
  2. Music Retail and Labels — Record companies partnering on hardware and repackaged releases create new revenue streams beyond streaming and physical media sales, leveraging nostalgia and exclusivity.
  3. Home Entertainment Systems — Integrated multi-room audio standards and modular speaker setups point to reconfigurable home sound architectures that converge AV hardware with branded content experiences.
