Floating Animal Installations

'The Ninth Wave' by Cai Guo-Qiang Sends Fake Creatures Down a River

'The Ninth Wave' by artist Cai Guo-Qiang sees stuffed animals floating down a river towards Shanghai. The entire installation appears to draw inspiration from Noah's Arc, and is quite life-like when viewed from far away.

The installation is meant to draw awareness to environmental concerns that are facing the earth these days. With pollution at an all-time high in China, anything that can be done to educate people on the harmful effects of the many factories in the country is a good move. If the country keeps going at its current rate, the chances of health problems will rise significantly, giving way to a whole new set of problems. This installation by Cai Guo-Qiang is much-needed.
