The Molecular Chair by Antonio Pio Saracino is Inspired by Science

The Molecular Chair is a highly unusual design created by Antonio Pio Saracino. The miniature balls that covers the baroque style chair is meant to represent microscopic matter.

The Italian designer says his creation aims to "cross the boundaries between scientific knowledge and expressive design." The chairs were created by making a mesh frame from twisted wire and then covering it with recycled woollen balls. Not only do these chairs look great, but the balls also provide a lot of cushion.This creative masterpiece was produced by the Italian manufacturer Polimodel.

These odd-looking chairs have a certain eclectic charm to them. They would certainly make a bold statement in a classical dining room.
