Lenovo's Smart Clock Adjusts Alarms with AI for Different Scenarios

The Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant made a splash when it was unveiled earlier this year, offering an intuitive way for people to start and end their days. Beyond sharing the time and providing a wake-up alarm, the clock is useful for helping people feel more rested by slowly increasing the screen brightness to encourage people out of bed. Now, Lenovo is updating its voice assistant Smart Clock with smart and contextual alarm ringtones called Impromptu.

With this update, Lenovo Smart Clock users are able to enjoy non-jarring tones throughout the day that are adjusted by machine learning to specific scenarios. For example, an alarm on a sunny day may sound joyful and different from the sounds shared on crisp, cool days. The alarm tones are adjusted using Magenta, powered by Google’s TensorFlow technology and are shown on the screen to be "composed and created for you by Google AI."
