'Stitching Concrete' by Florian Schmid Makes Hard Look Soft

The chair collection entitled 'Stitching Concrete' by Florian Schmid is made with concrete portrayed as soft fabric.

This German designer cleverly crafted a canvas that's faux fabric, but is actually extremely hard and roush. The base is made with a material called concrete canvas that's soaked in water to achieve a malleable state.

After Schmid cuts the desired shapes, the cut-outs are then sewn together and hung on a wooden rack to harden for 24 hours. This type of seating is ideal for both indoor and outdoor as the material is fire and water-resistant. Stitching Concrete by Florian Schmid is aesthetically pleasing with falsified fabric that is not only interesting to look at, but is sure to spark conversation.
